Living in a third-world country, taking bucket showers and sleeping in mosquito nets in cinderblock homes was life-changing to say the least. It was also one of the most rewarding things I’ve ever done.  Every day, I can attribute a blessing in my life that is a direct result of that service, including my faith and the quality of my relationships.

Growing up in a small, rural Missouri town of 300 people I was a very outdoorsy kid, often camping, fishing and hunting with friends and family. Participating in Boy Scouts of America, while working toward the rank of Eagle Scout, further developed my appreciation for nature and wildlife. Sports were also a huge part of our family life. Basketball was king, and as a former collegiate athlete, I learned of the rewards that follow hard work and perseverance. In my hometown, everyone knew everyone for the most part and I developed a profound sense of community. This is foundational to my business today as clients become friends and family, our community.

My father instilled an uncompromising work ethic in me through his example. He maintained a corporate leadership career to support our family of seven, but was always working on other profit-generating projects on the side. I inherited this entrepreneurial spirit as well. I have always loved to draw and developed artistic talents as a youth, dreaming of becoming an architect someday. However, drawing buildings did not appeal to me while in college, so I studied business and entrepreneurship.

My formal education was put on hold when I decided to serve a two-year mission for my church in the Dominican Republic. Living in a third-world country, taking bucket showers and sleeping in mosquito nets in cinderblock homes with tin roofs was life-changing to say the least. After a crash course in Spanish in the mission training center, I was sent to the Dominican Republic and learned the rest by immersion. I learned many things during that two years, far more than Latin American culture or the Spanish language. I learned of blessings that come from selfless service and how to truly listen to people. When you sit in front of someone, initially understanding merely ten percent of what they say, you quickly learn to pick up on nonverbal communication and facial expressions to determine where they are coming from. It was this experience that taught me how to build lasting relationships by listening to and caring for others. This skillset has helped me in indescribable ways throughout my career, but especially as a trusted real estate consultant. My time serving the Dominican people as a missionary was one of the most rewarding experiences of my life, and I regularly see blessings today that are direct results of that service.

When I returned home, I finished college, married my Wife, Karra, and began working in the insurance industry with the intention to become an agent with my own sales business eventually. Though my entrepreneurial spirit was alive and well, it just never felt like the right time to make that leap. So, instead, I kept moving up through the operational side, serving in a variety of different claims and human resources leadership positions.

About twelve years into my profession, I kept feeling that I was supposed to be doing something different, even though my career was progressing well. I spent several years pondering and praying about what that should be. I needed something that would be the best fit for my family and me, because by then Karra and I had three children, Brayden, Kami and Gavin, to think about.

Then, it became clear to me that real estate was the path, so I obtained my license and took advantage of an amazing opportunity to join The Home Selling Team. Randy and Janine, the founders of our team and my mentors, have led our team into the Top 1% in production in Arizona, and I jumped at the chance to learn this business the right way from some of the best in the industry.

One of my most important learnings in life is that no one becomes successful by themselves. The key is finding the right people to guide you, and then go to work. I am happy to be following my dreams and doing this work that I am passionate about! We are an amazing team together and we love getting results for and serving our clients.

As driven as I am to be successful in the real estate world, my faith and family come first. David O. McKay once said, “No other success can compensate for failure in the home.” I love this reminder to strive for balance in life, while continuing my commitment to my clients. I love people and want to see them achieve their goals. That’s really what this business is all about.

The average agent sells only five properties a year. I closed 15 transactions my first year and more than doubled that in my second. However, there is no secret sauce to success. You surround yourself with successful people, and you do the work. Anybody who’s really good in this industry will tell you that. You have to work. You must take care of your clients. It’s that simple.

What sets us apart is our outstanding track record, hyper-focused market expertise, exceptional client service and honest communication. If we are helping you purchase a new home, our goal is to ensure you love it and enjoy the ride. If you’re selling, we will get you the most amount of profit in the least amount of time with as little stress as possible!

Sincerely,
